Counselling

As our name suggests, Centre 360 offers a holistic, creative and flexible approach to ensure that young people access the mental health support they need. Because asking for help can be hard. At Centre 360 there is no “one-size- fits-all” approach. We meet young people where they are.

We are trauma informed and strengths based, meaning that our team of counsellors provide a safe space for you to explore your journey and focus on personal strengths and coping strategies.

We work flexibly with you to ensure we are responding to your specific needs, making a positive difference to your life by focusing on your internal needs at the same time as improving relationships in your external world.

At times, and where appropriate, we work together with your family to help support you through a particular challenge all while maintaining confidentiality. We appreciate the importance of working with family and care givers to ensure the best outcomes for you.

We cover a range of experiences including, but not limited to, trauma and loss, abuse and neglect, family struggles, mental health struggles, substance dependencies, school-related issues, homelessness and anxiety.

As with all our programs, you must meet our criteria of financial disadvantage: Centrelink benefit, Family Tax Benefit B, and/or other financial disadvantage.

Group and Parent Programs

Our group programs support young people, parents and carers.

Mentoring

Centre 360 Youth and Family Service believes strongly in the power of a positive mentoring relationship and the tremendous impact it can have on a young person’s life. Every year, we team up with legal firm Herbert Smith Freehills to provide a scholarship and mentoring program to young people who are engaged with our service. This program runs annually and supports young people to identify their strengths in reaching their educational and work goals.

Parenting Support

We know that in order to have the best outcomes for our young people we need to support their parents and families too. As part of our commitment to holistic service provision, we provide the Tuning in to Teens (TinT) program, which offers parents and carers therapeutic support, skills and confidence to better manage family issues. These programs run throughout the year and places are limited so if you are keen, click below to register your interest.

Our Parenting Webinar, ‘How to Connect with Your Teen’ is on the Friday the 30th of May.

Delivered by Centre 360 adolescent and family counsellors, this webinar will present on adolescent development, its impacts on the teen/parent relationship, why connection is fundamental to navigating the teenage years, and how to remain connected with your teen/s during this significant time of change in their lives.

Registrations close Friday 24th May. Limited spots available.

Click the “Register for Tickets” button below and sign up via the platform.

School-Based Programs

Sometimes our work has to go to you, rather than you come to us. We work in schools delivering our group programs as well as individual counselling.

STRIVE Group Program

Anxiety, depression, academic stress, low self-esteem and family breakdown can overwhelm. STRIVE was developed in response to schools reporting an increase in mental health issues affecting students.

The STRIVE program is preventative. It works with school teachers and student welfare staff to identify students who are at risk of experiencing mental health issues and who may be at risk of disengaging from education.

The program is facilitated with identified students in school.  It works to give students the coping strategies and emotional regulation skills they need to overcome obstacles.

Peer Support Groups

Our peer support groups aim to provide a therapeutic space for students to discuss issues they are struggling with, share ideas on how to work through these issues and build social connections. Students will be taught emotional regulation and coping skills as well as psycho-education around mental health, relationships and healthy lifestyle.

School-Based Individual Counselling

Just like our centre-based counselling, our counselling in schools provides students with a creative, flexible, holistic therapeutic space to ensure that they can access the mental health support they need. Our counselling in schools is trauma-informed, providing support for a range of experiences such as trauma and loss, abuse and neglect, family struggles, mental health struggles, substance dependencies, school issues, homelessness and anxiety.
